At least temporarily, there are two "Kennedys" on Broadway. At the Belasco Theatre, the oddball comedy Jackie follows the life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, while at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, Lauren Kennedy has temporarily stepped in for Emily Skinner as the Daisy Hilton, half of the Hilton twins in Side Show. As reported in the New York Times, Side Show was cancelled on Tuesday when Skinner became ill with a sore throat and further rehearsal was needed for the understudy, Kennedy, to go on in her place. Instead of the show, the cast did a full-dress rehearsal with Kennedy, concentrating on the show's particular choreography. Kennedy did the Oct. 29 matinee and evening shows and may go on tonight as well. Skinner is scheduled to visit the doctor today and decide whether she can go back into the show tonight.

In other Side Show news, producer Emanuel Azenberg told the Times a deal had been signed with producer Duncan Weldon to mount the show in London, fall 1998. He also said a second North American tour was planned for Toronto next summer.
