Previews for the American premiere of Rainbow Kiss – presented by The Play Company – began March 12. Farquhar's work originally premiered as part of London's Royal Court Theatre's 50th anniversary season. The limited engagement will run through April 13 at 59E59 Theaters. Set in Aberdeen, Scotland, Rainbow Kiss, according to production notes, "starts with a kiss and ends in blood. Keith, raising his infant son alone while holding down a dead-end job, stakes his future on a one-night stand with Shazza, an upwardly mobile beautician he meets at a club. She has a master plan and he doesn't belong. Yet she keeps coming back for more."

The U.S. premiere production, under the direction of Will Frears, features Michael Cates (Blue Man Group), Robert Hogan (A Few Good Men), Charlotte Parry (Howard Katz) and Peter Scanavino (Shining City).

Creative duties are handled by Thomas Lynch (set design), Sarah Beers (costume design), Tyler Micoleau (lighting design) and Drew Levy (sound design).

Tickets for Rainbow Kiss, priced $35, are available by phoning (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com.
