The Third Annual Chekhov International Festival in Moscow kicks off Mar. 26 with a trio of productions from the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA. The ART plays include Andrei Serban's adaptation of Carlo Gozzi's King Stag, with designs and choregraphy by Julie Taymor (of Broadway's The Lion King); Joseph Chaikin's production of a play he co-wrote with Sam Shepard, When the World was Green; and Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author, adapted by Robert Brustein (ART's artistic director).

All plays will be performed at the historical Moscow Art Theatre, where Stanislavsky himself once reigned supreme.
