Although soon to close at the Arts Theatre, Vagina Monologues will live on in London.

Since its first appearance in New York City in 1996, The Vagina Monologues has been a focal point for the modern woman in the U.S., and returned to London in 2001 after two successful annual gala events.

The show offers a continually changing cast of three high-ranking actresses - each exploring the pain, power and excitement of their vaginas in a series of monologues. Celebrities who have taken part in the London production so far include Maureen Lipman, Edie Falco, Amy Irving, Dannii Minogue, Kika Markham, Meera Syal, and Jerry Hall.

The Vagina Monologues had initially confirmed a limited run at London's New Ambassadors Theatre until June 3 in 2001, but due to its popularity has continued to extend since then.
