The Tahe Sheen Center for Thought & Culture has announced its fall and winter programming, featuring a mix of theatre, film, visual art, and music. Among the theatre highlights is the debut of Broadway Bares Soul: An Intimate Evening of Song & Spirit, a new concert series featuring Broadway actors Vanessa Williams (Into the Woods), Kelli O’Hara (The King and I), and Raúl Esparza (Company).
The series will kick off September 9 with Tony nominee Williams, followed by O'Hara on October 3, and Esparza on December 14. Each performance will feature a mix of interview and performance and will be hosted by CNN Faith & Religion commentator, Fr. Edward Beck, C.P.
Drama Desk winner Andréa Burns (On Your Feet!, In the Heights) will also return to the Sheen Center with a concert on December 11, and Broadway Inspirational Voices will perform December 4.
In the Black Box theatre will be Loveless Texas (September 6-24), The Mecca Tales (October 20-November 4), Hold These Truths, a solo play starring Joel de la Fuente of The Man in the High Castle (December 2-20), and The Enlightenment of Mr. Mole, based on The Wind in the Willows, adapted and directed by B.H. Barry (December 27-31).
There will also be two readings of new plays: Daylight by Bill Cain about Dorothy Day starring Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale); and The Wars of Dagger John by Turlough McConnell about 19th century Archbishop “Dagger John” Hughes.
