News Vanessa Williams Lands Recurring Role on CBS' "The Good Wife" Vanessa Williams, Tony-nominated for her work in the revival of Into the Woods, will join the cast of CBS' "The Good Wife" in a recurring role in November.

Williams, who was last on Broadway in After Midnight, will play Courtney Boalt, an extremely successful, self-made businesswoman who is potentially interested in backing Peter Florrick's (Chris Noth) campaign for President of the U.S. In the process, she meets Eli Gold (Alan Cumming), sparking a mutual attraction.

"The Good Wife" will return for its seventh season Oct. 4 at 9 PM ET.

The series stars Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski, Matt Czuchry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Alan Cumming, Zach Grenier and Cush Jumbo. It is produced by Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions in association with CBS Television Studios. Ridley Scott, Robert King, Michelle King, Brooke Kennedy, David W. Zucker, Leonard Dick and Craig Turk are executive producers.
