News Vanessa Williams to Be Part of TNT's "Christmas in Washington" Telecast Vanessa Williams, whose Broadway credits include Kiss of the Spider Woman and the revival of Into the Woods, will be among the performers on the annual "Christmas in Washington" holiday special.

TNT Network will broadcast the concert, which will be taped at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The program will air Dec. 15 at 8 PM ET; check local listings. Dr. Phil and Robin McGraw will co-host the annual concert, which will feature the talents of Vanessa Williams, JoJo, LeAnn Rimes and Ruben Studdard. The President and First Lady are also expected to attend.

Steve Koonin, executive vice president and chief operating officer for TNT and TBS, said in a statement, "Now in its 23rd year, 'Christmas in Washington' is an annual holiday tradition that brings Americans together in a musical celebration of the holidays. We are thrilled to have such a wonderful line-up of performers for this year's gala and that Dr. Phil, who provides hope and healing to so many people, will be taking such a central role in this very special event." "Christmas in Washington" is executive-produced by George Stevens, Jr. and directed and produced by Michael Stevens for The Stevens Company.

A Tony Award nominee for her role in Into the Woods, Williams has also appeared on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman and in the City Center Encores! production of St. Louis Woman. Williams' screen credits include roles in "Soul Food," "Eraser," "Dance with Me" and "Shaft." The singer-actress will play the famed Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street) Dec. 1-4. The concerts will celebrate Williams' seventh studio recording, "Silver & Gold," a collection of holiday material, both new and classic.
