Accidentally, Like a Martyr, a new Grant James Varjas play that brings a group of gay men together on a winter night, will be presented at The Wild Project June 23-26.

Varjas will direct and appear opposite Keith McDermott, Chuck Blasius, Ken Forman, Joe MacDougall and Philip Taratula. The limited run is planned in honor of Gay Pride Week in New York. According to press notes, the play "takes place in a gay bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where a group of men from different backgrounds and generations talk, joke and drink their way through a slow and lonely winter evening. Old secrets are revealed and old wounds re-opened in a serio-comic play inspired and influenced by Mart Crowley's The Boys in the Band and Tennessee Williams's Small Craft Warnings."

Varjas received a GLAAD nomination for 33 to Nothing, a play with music that he wrote and composed. A member of the Tectonic Theatre Company, he was worked as a writer and actor with the company and its director, Moises Kaufman, on the film version of The Laramie Project, Broadway's 33 Variations and other projects. He will appear in the upcoming film "Peter and Vandy."

The Wild Project is located at 195 East 3rd Street between Avenues A and B. For tickets call (212) 352-3101 or visit thewildproject.com.
