News Venus in Fur's Hugh Dancy Will Star in NBC Drama Series "Hannibal" Hugh Dancy, who currently stars in Broadway's Venus in Fur, has been cast in the upcoming NBC drama series "Hannibal," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Hannibal," written and executive-produced by Bryan Fuller ("Pushing Daisies"), is an hour-long contemporary thriller that centers around FBI agent Will Graham (Dancy) and his mentor, Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

The series, which has been given a 13-episode order from NBC, features the characters from Thomas Harris' "Red Dragon" novel. Martha DeLaurentiis will also serve as an executive producer on the series.

Dancy made his Broadway debut in Journey's End and was seen Off-Broadway in The Pride. His numerous film credits include "Martha Marcy May Marlene," "Our Idiot Brother," "Dorothy of Oz," "Adam," "Confessions of a Shopaholic," "Evening," "The Jane Austen Book Club," "Beyond the Gates," "King Arthur," "Ella Enchanted," "The Sleeping Dictionary," "Black Hawk Down" and "Young Blades." He received an Emmy nomination for his performance in "Elizabeth I" and also appeared on Showtime's "The Big C."
