Variety reports that Vereen will be joined by choreographer Cris Judd and actress and singer Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick (AKA Vitamin C) for the new series that pairs young professional dancers with one of their parents. The contestants, who are pared down by public vote, will compete for a $100,000 grand prize. "Your Mama Don't Dance" is hosted by former "Beverly Hills: 90210" star Ian Ziering and will be taped in front of a live audience. The premiere episode, featuring five female contestants and their fathers, is set to air on Lifetime Feb. 29 at 9 PM ET/PT.

Vereen has appeared in the Broadway productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Grind, Jelly's Last Jam, Fosse, I'm Not Rappaport, and most recently, Wicked.
