News Veteran Actor Ed Asner Hospitalized for Exhaustion Ed Asner, who was seen on Broadway earlier this season in the drama Grace, was hospitalized after becoming ill during a performance of his one-man show, FDR, March 12 in Gary, IN.

Asner's son told TMZ that his 83-year-old father was hospitalized for exhaustion and "is doing fine. He was rushed to the hospital yesterday for being disoriented on stage."

"He is resting now at an Indiana hospital and is doing well and very grumpy, which with him is always a good thing. He is being assessed right now and what I can say is that it was not a stroke. That much we do know. He was feeling under the weather for a few weeks so he may just need some rest but for now he is just fine," Asner's son added.

Asner is best known for his award-winning work on TV's "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Lou Grant." He is also president of the Screen Actors Guild.
