VIDEO FEATURE: Going Backstage at Anything Goes

News   VIDEO FEATURE: Going Backstage at Anything Goes

The company over at Broadway's Anything Goes seems to take that title seriously, as Playbill.com learned when we supplied a video camera to cast member Robert Creighton for a new three-part Playbill Backstage series.

As hard as they play (in the halls, in the wings and in their dressing rooms at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre), the troupers work even harder, resulting in nine 2011 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Direction and Choreography (Kathleen Marshall) and Best Actress in a Musical (Sutton Foster).

With camera in hand, Creighton (who plays the Purser in the shipboard musical comedy) documents the opening weekend of the Roundabout Theatre revival of the Cole Porter classic.

We get a glimpse at the passing of the Gypsy Robe (a Broadway tradition), meet the ensemble and open the doors of the dressing rooms of Foster, Joel Grey, John McMartin and Jessica Walter. All aboard!
