News Vilanch, Cavenaugh and von Essen Join Gets as Scrooge in A Queer Carol, Dec. 20 Hairspray's Bruce Vilanch, Urban Cowboy's Matt Cavenaugh, Dance of the Vampires' Max von Essen and more join Amour Tony nominee Malcolm Gets in the special one-night performance of A Queer Carol in New York City, Dec. 20.

The event produced by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in collaboration with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will perform at the downtown venue, Dec. 20 at 7 PM. Richard Sabellico (the Charles Busch Auntie Mame benefit) directs the Dickens-meets-Chelsea work by Joseph Godfry. The cast will feature Gets as Ebenezer Scrooge, von Essen as Bob Cratchit, Cavenaugh as Younger Scrooge and Vilanch as Mr. Fezziwig. Also include in the ensemble are Aloysius Gigl ("One Life to Live") as Jacob Marley, Joe Machota (Mamma Mia) as Tim, Flotilla De Barge ("Wigstock: The Movie") as the Ghost of Christmas Past, TJ Larke as 12 year-old Scrooge, Cynthia Pierce as Svetlana, Jean and Nurse, Ray De Mattis as Fred and Han Friedrichs as Nick/Noel.

Gets — who recently appeared in a Passion benefit concert — earned a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway turn in the musical Amour. The actor, known for his stint on television's "Caroline in the City," has also been seen on stage in Finian's Rainbow, Polish Joke, The Molière Comedies, Boys and Girls, A New Brain, Hello Again, Merrily We Roll Along and the City Center Encores! production of The Boys From Syracuse.
