News Village Theatre to Stage Iron Curtain, Green Gables, Sleuth, Superstar and Full Monty The new musicals Iron Curtain and Anne of Green Gables are on the 2010-2011 season bill for the Village Theatre in Issaquah, WA.

The theatre company, which devotes part of its seasonal programming to the development of new musicals, stages productions in both Issaquah and Everrett, WA. The Village aided in the development of the Tony-winning Broadway musical Next to Normal, which originated there under the working title Feeling Electric.

The season will begin with the Tony-nominated David Yazbek-Jeffrey Lane-Terrence McNally musical The Full Monty, which will run Sept. 15-Oct. 24 in Issaquah and Oct. 26-Nov. 21 in Everett.

A new musical adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, by Janet Yates and Mark Friedman, will run Nov. 10, 2010-Jan. 2, 2011, in Issaquah and Jan. 7-30, 2011, in Everett. Based on the classic Lucy Maud Montgomery novel, the work was previously presented as part of the Village Originals 9th Annual Festival of New Musicals.

Anthony Shaffer's Tony Award-winning thriller Sleuth will run Jan. 19-Feb. 27, 2011, in Issaquah and March 4-27, 2011, in Everett.

Iron Curtain, featuring a book by Susan DiLallo, music by Stephen Weiner and lyrics by Peter Mills, will follow. Presented by New York's Prospect Theatre Company in 2006 and at the 2007 Village Originals, the musical comedy will run March 16-April 24, 2011, in Issaquah and April 29-May 22, 2011, in Everett. The final production will be Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, running May 11-July 3, 2011, in Issaquah and July 8-31, 2011, in Everett.
