The Vineyard Theatre’s 2017 gala will celebrate the 10th anniversary of [title of show], which made its New York premiere at the Off-Broadway venue in 2007 before transferring to Broadway the following year. The fundraising event will take place March 13 at the Edison Ballroom.
The evening will honor producer Kevin McCollum, along with the musical’s stars, Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen (who also wrote the show), Susan Blackwell, and Heidi Blickenstaff. The creative team—director Michael Berresse (Bowen's partner) and music director Larry Pressgrove—also reunite to helm the proceedings.
Performing at the event will be Tony winners Betty Buckley (Split, Cats), Joanna Gleason (Into the Woods), and Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago); Tony nominees Stephanie J. Block (Falsettos), Brandon Victor Dixon (Hamilton), Steven Boyer (Hand to God), Andrea McArdle (Annie), Penny Fuller (Sunday in the Park with George), and Stephanie D’Abruzzo (Avenue Q); and Gideon Glick (Significant Other) and Chris Sarandon (Cyrano de Bergerac). Also making appearances will be director Liesl Tommy (Eclipsed), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Barrett Foa (Avenue Q), and Colin Hanlon (Falsettos).
Proceeds from the event will help fund Vineyard Theatre’s 2016–17 season and launch the Musical Theatre Fund, which will ensure the company’s commitment to developing and producing new musicals.
