News Vintage Nancy LaMott Cabaret Acts Now Available On DVD; Track Listings Announced In commemoration of the 15th anniversary of cabaret favorite Nancy LaMott's untimely death, composer-producer David Friedman and Midder Music Records have released a DVD set containing four complete performances of the cabaret acts the late singer performed at Don't Tell Mama in the late 80s.

The two-DVD set, which features four acts covering the years 1986-1988, is currently available by visiting MIDDERMusic.com, LMLMusic.com or NancyLaMott.com. The set, which normally sells for $29.95, is priced at $15 through Dec. 31. LaMott's CDs are also on sale for $10 during this time period.

The recordings, according to press notes, "mark the height of Nancy LaMott's career at Don't Tell Mama, just before she made her first of a series of CDs that catapulted her into the public eye in a much bigger way. It was at these performances that it became obvious that Nancy was a major singing star who needed to be heard by the world at large. With no bells and whistles, no fancy lighting, no big band, just a piano on a small stage, Nancy's extraordinary way with a song and her ability to move an audience to laughter, tears and everything in between shines through."

Nancy LaMott was beloved by fans for a voice that could be soft and sweet one minute and big and belty the next. Many critics agreed she also possessed a remarkable ability to find the emotional center of any song, bringing a lyric to life as honestly as possible. LaMott's solo recording credits included "Beautiful Baby," "Come Rain or Come Shine: The Songs of Johnny Mercer," "My Foolish Heart," "Just in Time for Christmas" and "Listen to My Heart" as well as the posthumously issued "What's Good About Goodbye?," "Nancy LaMott—Live at Tavern on the Green" and "Ask Me Again." LaMott died in 1995 at the age of 43.

The recordings will be available in stores beginning in February 2011.
