News Viviano, Mason and Hilsabeck Set for Reading of Cosmopolitan Musical Collaborative Arts Project 21's Dorothy Strelsin New Works Series will continue with a free reading of a new musical entitled The Cosmopolitan.

The staged reading will be held April 2 at CAP21/The Shop in Manhattan. The 7:30 PM event will feature the talents of Sal Viviano (The Life, The Full Monty), Karen Mason (Mamma Mia!, Sunset Boulevard) and Rick Hilsabeck (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as well as Tim Alex, Randy Blair, Joyce Chiddick, Joe Dellger, Tim Ewing, Guil Fisher, Liz Fye, Liz Gross, Devin Norik, Joe Passano, Josh Prince, Jonathan T. Ross, Megan Sikora, Shelly Watson and Darryl Winslow. Peter Flynn directs. The Cosmopolitan was penned by Lance Horne (music and lyrics), Lorin Latarro (book and lyrics) and Josh Rhodes (book and lyrics). The musical, according to press notes, is described thusly: "Workers at New York City's premier opera company have gone on strike and the company is in desperate need of a theatre. Surprisingly, they find a temporary home in the cultural Mecca of Newark, New Jersey. Laughs come large when blue blood meets blue collar — and love is found in unexpected places."
