News Vote!, with Banks, Goodwin and Karr, Begins FringeNYC Run Aug. 14 The FringeNYC production of Vote! The Musical, starring Legally Blonde's Bailey Hanks, begins performances at the Minetta Lane Theatre Aug. 14.

Ryan J. Davis directs the musical comedy with choreography by Rachelle Rak ("Every Little Step," Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). The production runs through Aug. 26.

In addition to Hanks, the cast also features Deidre Goodwin (A Chorus Line, Nine), Morgan Karr (Spring Awakening, Everyday Rapture), Krystal Joy Brown (Rent), Landon Beard (Altar Boyz), Tracy Weiler, Nina Sturtz ("The Battery’s Down"), Daniel Robinson (Hairspray), Kevin Michael Murphy, Kate Roth, Andrew Christi, Robert W. Fowler, Micah Rapisand, Christie Schwartzman, Alex Rolecek and Reymundo Santiago.

VOTE! has book and lyrics by Ryann Ferguson with music and additional lyrics by Steven Jamail.

VOTE!, according to press notes, focuses "on the electoral process from the perspective of three high school seniors. The race forces the candidates to consider the meaning of each vote and the importance of distinctive character in politics. While some of the students have no problem gaining approval from their peers, others act as though they'll stop at nothing to win the coveted position of student council president."
