News Warrior Class, Kenneth Lin's Political Drama, Will Star David Rasche, Katharine Powell for Second Stage Uptown Louis Ozawa Changchien, Katharine Powell and David Rasche will star in the world premiere of Kenneth Lin's Warrior Class in Second Stage Theatre's Uptown Series. The play, billed as being about "a political battle of race, romance, forgiveness and debt," begins Off-Broadway July 11.

Evan Cabnet (All-American, Outside People, The Dream of the Burning Boy) directs the production, opening July 23 at the McGinn Cazale Theater on the Upper West Side. It plays to Aug. 11.

"When Assemblyman Julius Lee [Changchien] makes a bid for Congress, the ghosts of his college days come back to haunt him," according to Second Stage. "Nothing reveals true colors like a sprint to the finish, when friends become enemies and allies can turn on a dime."

Warrior Class features scenic design by Andromache Chalfant, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Japhy Weideman and sound design by Jill BC. DuBoff.

Changchien worked in Second Stage's Year Zero and Off-Broadway in The Dumb Waiter (NAATCO) and Crane Story (Playwright's Realm). He appears in the new film "The Bourne Legacy."

Powell appeared in Second Stage Theatre's Election Day and The Water's Edge, plus Playwrights Horizons' After the Revolution and Broadway's The Farnsworth Invention. Rasche's New York credits include Broadway's Speed-the-Plow, Lunch Hour, Loose Ends and The Shadow Box and Off-Broadway's The Seagull at CSC, Regrets Only for MTC, Edmond for Atlantic, among others.

The McGinn/Cazale Theatre is on Broadway at 76th Street. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by calling the Second Stage Theatre Box Office at (212) 246-4422 or online at 2ST.com.
