Alice in Wonderland is scheduled to get its world premiere in Denver this fall; it comes to Washington in May 2006. "[Wheeldon's] work celebrates two ideas which are central to our artistic philosophy: a fidelity and fluence with the language of ballet and a commitment to creativity and invention," Webre said.
Also on the schedule are Webre's Carmen, on a program with Balanchine's Seranade and Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs in November, and 22 performances of The Nutcracker in December. In February and March, the company performs seven new works in the Kennedy Center's intimate Terrace Theater.
