News Watch a Beautiful Broadway-Bollywood Mashup, With King and I’s Ashley Park The King and I’s Tuptim exclusively shared her mashup of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “If I Loved You” with “Tu Bin Bataye.”

Ashley Park, who was recently seen on Broadway in The King and I, and actor-musician Rohan Kymal teamed up for a mashup of Broadway and Bollywood with “If I Loved You” from Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s Carousel and AR Rahman’s popular Bollywood song “Tu Bin Bataye.” Watch it above.

“Our cover of ‘If I Loved You/Tu Bin Bataye’ comes as response to a time when the happenings in the world leave us at a loss for words,” said Park, Kymal and arranger Dan Crowley. “The idea for this collaboration was inspired by the understanding that we can all speak, connect, and perhaps move forward together through the universal language of music. No matter what culture, what gender, what instrument, what genre, what skin color… All of us can unite in love.”

Crowley arranged the song at the Motel Room Studios; Crowley produces with Park as associate producer.

The video was shot by Dominick Dimola with Jomy George on tabla, Karl Kawahara on violin, Peter Sachon on cello and Damian Primis on bassoon and flute. Vincent Santvoord was the first assistant cameraman.
