On August 3, legendary director-producer Harold Prince will unveil his latest project: Prince of Broadway, a musical celebration of his career that spans more than six decades of theatre history.
In the video above, take a sneak peek into the first day of rehearsals for the show, which Prince says he sees as a celebration of “our collective love affair with the theatre.”
Prince of Broadway features both biographical material and songs from many of the shows that earned Prince a record 21 Tony Awards, including West Side Story, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Evita, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, and The Phantom of the Opera.
Performances will begin August 3 at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, where it will officially open August 24.
