Original Kinky Boots stars Billy Porter and Stark Sands, who recently returned to the roles of Lola and Charlie, respectively, in the Tony-winning musical, have recorded an acoustic version of their Act I duet, “Not My Father's Son.”

View their music video for the Cyndi Lauper tune above. Lauper won a Tony Award for her score to the Tony-winning musical, which features a book by multiple-Tony winner Harvey Fierstein.

The original video was conceived and directed by Lauper, who re-imagined the song, producing and arranging a new, acoustic version of the track released by Sony Masterworks Broadway.

Lauper said in a statement, “Now felt like the right time to do this. I wanted to tell the story of two totally different men, from different walks of life, that come together to realize that it’s our differences that should bring us together. That’s inspiring. And I think we could all use some of that these days… It’s also a great way to welcome Billy and Stark back to Broadway!”

Tony Award winner Porter and Tony nominee Sands returned to the production at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre for a limited engagement through January 7, 2018.
