Pretty Woman is based on the beloved 1990 film of the same name, with music and lyrics by Adams and Jim Vallance, a book by Garry Marshall and J.F. Lawton (director and screenwriter of the original film, respectively), and direction and choreography by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell. The musical opened at the Nederlander Theatre on August 16.
