Cher will play Ruby Sheridan—mother to Donna—in the upcoming movie, which will unfold as both a sequel to the original 2007 film adaptation of the popular musical and a prequel, telling Donna’s backstory through flashbacks.
The TV spot also features returning stars Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Stellan Skarsgärd, as well as a host of newcomers, including Lily James and Broadway favorite Jessica Keenan Winn, who play the younger Donna and Tanya.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again will arrive in theatres July 20.
