Catch title player Ethan Slater and the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants in a new music video of “(Just a) Simple Sponge” from the new Broadway musical. The video features footage from the recording studio (the Chicago cast recorded a cast album for the show prior to its Broadway transfer) as well as highlights from the stage production.

SpongeBob SquarePants, The Broadway Musical, directed by Tina Landau, officially opened on Broadway at the Palace Theatre December 4, 2017.
The show arrived in New York after a well-received 2016 world-premiere engagement in Chicago (then titled The SpongeBob Musical), also directed by Landau.
Reprising their roles from the musical’s Chicago premiere are Slater as SpongeBob and Danny Skinner as Patrick Star, as well as Gavin Lee as Squidward Q. Tentacles, Lilli Cooper as Sandy Cheeks, Wesley Taylor as Sheldon Plankton, and Brian Ray Norris in his Broadway debut as Krusty Krab owner Eugene Krabs.
Featuring original songs by Arcade Fire's Will Butler, the David Adjmi play enjoyed a sold-out world premiere Off-Broadway via Playwrights Horizons.
Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 presents the new work from the songwriting duo.
