The original George Washington put his spin on “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
On July 10, Tony nominee Christopher Jackson sang the National Anthem for Major League Baseball’s All-Star game at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida.
Nominated in 2016 for his performance as George Washington in Broadway’s Hamilton, Jackson began his theatre career as Simba in The Lion King before originating the role of Benny in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning debut musical In the Heights. He also appeared onstage in Memphis, Bronx Bombers (the play about Yogi Bera and the New York Yankees), After Midnight, and Holler if Ya Hear Me.
Currently, Jackson plays series regular Chunk Palmer on CBS’ Bull, starring Michael Weatherly. Chunk is the former football-star-turned-fashion-consultant who works for a trial science firm owned by Dr. Jason Bull.
Jackson also recently lent his singing voice to Disney’s Moana as Chief Tui, Moana’s father.
