News Watch Jersey Boys’ Final Minute on the Broadway Stage After 11 years (and a couple months) on Broadway, the cast performs for the last time at the August Wilson.

On January 15, the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys took its final bow at the August Wilson Theatre. The smash hit first opened November 6, 2005 to the clamoring of audiences and critics. Telling the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the original cast included John Lloyd Young as Frankie Valli, Christian Hoff as Tommy DeVito, J. Robert Spencer as Nick Massi, and Daniel Reichard as Bob Gaudio. The final cast included Mark Ballas, Matt Bogart, Nicolas Dromard, and Drew Seeley. One cast member, Mark Lotito, had been with the cast through its full Broadway run (with the exception of a two-week hiatus in 2013).

With original Four Season melodies by Bob Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe, the musical features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and was directed by Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.

Nominated for eight Tony Awards in 2006, the show took home four prizes: Best Lighting Design for Howell Binkley, Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Christian Hoff, Best Actor in a Musical for John Lloyd Young, and Best Musical.
