British pop star Kimberley Walsh will make the transformation into Princess Fiona when she steps into the West End production of Shrek the Musical, taking over for Amanda Holden, whose pregnancy means she will play her last performance Oct. 3.

Walsh will begin performances Oct. 5 in Shrek the Musical, which officially opened this summer at the West End's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Walsh will join Nigel Lindsay as Shrek, Richard Blackwood as Donkey and Nigel Harman as Lord Farquaad. Here, Walsh prepares for two weeks, prior to trying on her green dress and meeting her co-star to snap a few production shots.

According to press materials, Shrek the Musical "tells the story of the swamp-dwelling ogre who, in a faraway kingdom, embarks on a life-changing adventure in order to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey who won’t shut up, this unlikely hero - not a handsome prince - fights a fearsome dragon, rescues the feisty Princess Fiona and learns that real friendship and true love aren’t only found in fairy tales."
