While on a break on the set of Supergirl, Melissa Benoist demonstrated her A Chorus Line moves for co-star David Harewood and assistant director Hamish Gough. Watch her perform the musical's opening "God I Hope I Get It" combination—complete with her own instrumentals—in the video below.

While Supergirl's red skirt/cape regalia suggests a Cassie aesthetic, Benoist actually played Bebe in a Colorado production of the Tony- and Pultizer-winning musical back in 2006—before making it big on Glee. She has also credited seeing the 2006 Broadway revival as a formative theatregoing experience.

Benoist made her Broadway debut last year as Carole King in Beautiful; as she geared up for her first bow, the actor told Playbill the music legend was "her own kind of Supergirl." Her additional credits include Whiplash and crossover episodes of Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash (including the musical episode "Duet"), and Arrow.
