The upcoming movie, which is a continuation of the acclaimed TV series, will arrive in cinemas in September 2019.

The first official trailer for the eagerly awaited new film Downton Abbey, based on the Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning TV series, has been released and can be viewed above.

The movie will arrive in cinemas September 20, 2019. Michael Engler directs based on a screenplay by Julian Fellowes.

The cast includes Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Harry Hadden-Paton, David Haig, Geraldine James, Robert James-Collier, Simon Jones, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Tuppence Middleton, Stephen Campbell Moore, Lesley Nicol, Kate Phillips, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton, and Penelope Wilton.

The TV series followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country house.
