Katrina Lenk performed her mesmerizing “Omar Sharif” from The Band’s Visit on the February 7 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on the tails of the announcement of the show’s spring closing.
Lenk won a Tony Award for her performance as Dina in the Tony-winning Best Musical, featuring a book by Tony winner Itamar Moses and a score by David Yazbek—both of whom also won Tonys. The show won a total of ten at the 2018 ceremony and is set to launch a national tour in June 2019. The Original Broadway Cast Recording is currently nominated for a Grammy Award.
The actor has been with the production since its hit Off-Broadway run at the Atlantic Theater Company. She first made her Broadway debut in The Miracle Worker, followed by Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. She later replaced as Reza in the Tony-winning musical Once and was part of the original company of the Tony-nominated play Indecent.
