Video   Watch This Year’s Jimmy Award Winners Take the Stage for Their Solo Numbers See Sofia Deler and Tony Moreno sing songs from Waitress and The Burnt Part Boys at the 2017 ceremony.

On June 26, 74 high school students took to the stage at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre for the 2017 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (known as the Jimmy Awards). Students Sofia Deler and Tony Moreno—who both qualified from Orlando, Florida—earned the top honors for the night.

Watch Deler perform “She Used to Be Mine” from Waitress in the video above and Moreno perform “Disappear” from The Burnt Part Boys below.


Both winners were awarded a $10,000 scholarship, while the remaining finalists received $2,500 toward their education.

This year’s awards featured 74 finalists—the largest pool of talent the awards have seen.
