Recent Tony winner Leslie Odom, Jr. appeared on the August 1 episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The singer sat in with the show’s house band, The Roots, and performed a snippet of Burr’s big solo, “Wait for It.”

Watch the clip here (beginning at the 6:30 mark):

Odom recently released a ten-track solo album.

Odom can be seen singing as the show comes back from commercial break at the 23:00 mark and again at the 30:00 stamp. (It seems the live studio audience may have enjoyed his voice during the commercial breaks.)

Odom exited Broadway’s Hamilton after the July 9 performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Shuffle Along) will take over the role this month, and Tony nominee Joshua Henry (Shuffle Along) will open the Chicago production of the show as Burr.
