Brady, according to the Bowl's official website, will join the previously announced Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell for the July 15 and 16 concerts at the famed outdoor theatre. Featuring the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Leonard Slatkin, the concerts will include Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and excerpts from Porgy and Bess. Also scheduled to perform are pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the Paul Smith Singers. Show time is 8:30 PM. Wayne Brady is known for bursting into song as the host of the recent "The Wayne Brady Show" as well as for his improvisational skills on ABC's "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Brady has also made guest appearances on television's "I'll Fly Away," "Home Court," "In the Heat of the Night," "Chappelle's Show" and "American Dreams." His stage credits include productions of A Chorus Line, Fences, I'm Not Rappaport, A Raisin in the Sun and Blade to the Heat.

Although George and Ira Gershwin wrote Porgy and Bess as a grand opera, it wasn't presented in that manner until more than four decades after its much-cut 1935 Broadway debut. The first full-length mounting was presented by the Houston Grand Opera in 1976. Porgy and Bess features such classic tunes as "I Got Plenty O' Nuttin'," "Bess, You Is My Woman Now," "It Ain't Necessarily So," "There's a Boat Dat's Leavin' Soon for New York" and "Summertime."
