On this week’s episode of Playbill’s The Tyler Mount Vlog, Mount chats to Phantom of the Opera star Ali Ewoldt, the first Asian actor to take on the role of Christine Daaé on Broadway. Watch the video above to see what the talented actor (and Psychology graduate) had to say about making history, and see how she fares in a game of “Can You Guess Which Broadway Celebrity is Behind the Mask?”
Ewoldt joined the Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera last June, where she currently stars alongside Paul A. Schaefer in the title role. Her earlier Broadway credits include The King and I, and Les Misérables.
Phantom holds the record for the longest-running musical in Broadway history. The show, which plays the Majestic Theatre, will celebrate its 30th anniversary next January.
