The New York Times reported May 23 that Fran and Barry Weissler are busy putting together a new production of the evergreen tuner. The paper mentioned Walter Bobbie as director and an "ABC television star" as the lead, but no names have been officially announced.

The most recent Broadway revival of Sweet Charity, about a good-hearted dance hostess who attracts mainly bad luck, played the Minskoff in 1986-87. It starred Debbie Allen as Charity, Bebe Neuwirth as Nicky and Michael Rupert as Oscar. The original starred Gwen Verdon as Charity and John McMartin as Oscar.

The Times also reported that the Weisslers were putting together a new production of William Gibson's The Miracle Worker with Minnie Driver as Annie Sullivan, the woman who taught Helen Keller how to communicate.
