L.A.'s West Coast Ensemble will present the West Coast premiere of Lucy Wang's Junk Bonds June 10-26.

A former bond trader, Wang shows the harshness of a male-dominated world on Wall Street through the struggles of a Chinese-American woman trying to make it to the top at a Wall Street bond trading company in the late 1980's.

The Junk Bonds cast features Terry Bozeman, Susan Chuang, Adam Enani. Kelvini Garvanne, Stephen Lee, Bryan McMillen and Ray Rourke.

Other plays by Wang are Bird's Nest Soup, Trayf and Number One Son. Besides plays, Wang has written an unproduced screenplay loosely adapted from the legend of Tristan and Isolde. She has also written many articles and short stories published in York Business, sundry literary magazines, The New York Times, Crain's Cleveland Business, Weekly, and several other business oriented magazines and newspapers.

Written in 1994, Junk Bonds immediately helped her gain note, winning the Roger L. Stevens Incentive Award from the Kennedy Center's Fund for New American Plays. Wang also received an award form the Berilla Kerr Foundation. Other accolades she received include a James Thurber Fellowship, a MacDowell Colony residency, the Katherine and Lee Chilcote Foundation Award for the Best New Play, and Jane Chamber Honorable Mention.
