News West Coast Workshop of Fringe Hit The Boys Upstairs Will Feature Jeffery Self Jason Mitchell's The Boys Upstairs, which debuted as part of the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival, will receive its West Coast debut in a workshop production at West Hollywood's Celebration Theatre.

Presented Jan. 24-Feb. 1, The Boys Upstairs will feature Jeffery Self (LOGO's "Jeffery & Cole's Casserole," "30 Rock"), Daniel Taylor (What’s Wrong With Angry?), Ben Baur, Chris Sams and Kyle David Pierce.

Jeremy O’Keefe directs the workshop presentations, which are open to the public. The series includes talkbacks with the playwright, director and cast.

Here's how The Boys Upstairs is billed: "Sex, Dating, Friendship, and all the blurry lines in between... The Boys Upstairs invites you into the fabulous living room of Josh, Seth, and Ashley. These three Hell's Kitchen Boys encounter all of the challenges, thrills, disappointments, tops and bottoms that young adult New York life has to offer."

Mitchell's play debuted as part of the 2009 FringeNYC and was revived as part of FringeNYC's 2011 Encore Series. Mitchell is also the author of The Red Box. He is currently at work on his first book, "Getting Groomed," a how-to gay wedding manual.
