News West End Veteran Simon Green to Appear at London's Crazy Coqs; New York to Follow Simon Green, a West End veteran of productions from The Boy Friend and Follies to Beauty and the Beast, is to premiere his latest cabaret show, So, This Then is Life, at London's Crazy Coqs, beginning performances May 6 for a run to May 10, before transferring to Off-Broadway's 59E59 Theaters, beginning performances May 20 for a run through June 1, where it will run as part of the annual Brits Off Broadway Festival there.

Accompanied by musical director, composer and arranger David Shrubsole, they previously took Travelling Light to New York, also to 59E59 Theaters, in 2010, where it was nominated for the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revue. According to publicity materials, Green "casts his uniquely British gaze over life's rude awakenings in the show. As Travelling Light, he and Shrubsole concoct a theatrical marriage of word, music and truths that aim to transport you to a former, more innocent incarnation of yourself. The duo's customary approach to their work is to begin with words and lyrics and in this show they draw on the works of an eclectic collection of artists, balancing the heartfelt sentiment of Noel Coward with the contemporary freshness of Elton John, the melodic vigour of Sondheim with the lyricism of Rudyard Kipling and uncovering an inspired piece that blends the words of Alexander Pushkin with the musical magic of Donald Swann. A little Lily Allen, Styles and Drewe, Duncan Sheik and Shrubsole himself are also included."
