The 30th anniversary of the original West End edition of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera was marked October 10 with a special charity performance of the show’s finale that was broadcast live on the show's Facebook page. The event can now be viewed as a clip on the page.

The current cast (led by Ben Forster in the title role, with Celinde Schoenmaker as Christine Daae and Nadim Naaman as Raoul) was joined by members of the original company and guests in the special finale.

The performance was staged in aid of the Music in Secondary Schools Trust.

In addition to the West End, productions are also currently running in New York, Budapest, Prague, Oberhausen and on tour in the U.S. A planned opening in Paris has been postponed owing to a fire at the theatre. It will also open in Stockholm soon.
