News West End's Yes, Prime Minister to Return to Gielgud Theatre After Current Apollo Run The current West End run of Yes, Prime Minister, a stage play based on the hit TV series, will return to its original West End home of the Gielgud Theatre for an extra eight weeks, once it concludes its season at the Apollo Sept. 17.

It will resume performances at the Gielgud Sept. 20, and will run through Nov. 19, replacing Lend Me a Tenor - the Musical, which was originally booking through that date but now shutters early Aug. 6.

Written by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn, who also scripted the original TV series, the production originated at Chichester Festival Theatre in the summer season of 2010 before transferring to the Gielgud that year. The roles  of Prime Minister Jim Hacker and Sir Humphrey Appleby are currently being played by Richard McCabe and Simon Williams, respectively.

The show is porduced by Mark Goucher, Wimpole Theatre and Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions.
