News Westchester's Hudson Stage Embraces Manhattan Casanova in World Premiere Manhattan Casanova, Jenny Lyn Bader's romantic comedy about courtship, commitmentphobia, and compulsive seduction, gets its world premiere Oct. 27 at Westchester County's Hudson Stage Company.

It's billed as "a play for anyone who's ever dated the wrong person." Richard Caliban directs a cast that includes Janine Barris, Elizabeth Hess, Abbie Killeen, Kari Swenson Riely and James Kiberd.

Bader's None of the Above and Out of Mind were seen by HSC audiences.

Manhattan Casanova won the Edith Oliver Award for comedy at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference. The award is for the play that, in the spirit of the late New Yorker critic, "has a caustic wit that deflates the ego but does not unduly damage the human spirit."

Bader was a Lark Playwriting Fellow. She has received commissions from Actors Theatre of Louisville, New Georges, and White Bird Productions. She is currently working on a musical with Joseph Stein, Susan Birkenhead and David Pomeranz.

The creative team includes scenic designer Andreea Mincic, lighting designer Andrew Gmoser, costume designer Joanne Haas, sound designer Jon Kadela, stage manager Kate DeCoste and executive producers Denise Bessette, Dan Foster and Olivia Sklar. Performances continue to Nov. 11 at Woodward Hall Theatre, Pace University, 235 Elm Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY.
