David Oyelowo made an appearance on Live with Kelly February 6. Oyelowo, who was recently seen playing the title role in Sam Gold’s acclaimed production of Othello at New York Theatre Workshop, talked about what it was like having his children attend the show.

Oyelowo humored Kelly Ripa and co-hosts with stories of how his children responded to his kissing co-star Rachel Brosnahan, who played Desdemona. The actor revealed he strategically positioned his sons to have nosebleed seats to avoid a scene in the theatre.

Gold’s contemporary staging of Othello received widespread critical acclaim when it debuted Off-Broadway. The show has been rumored to transfer to Broadway in the spring, but no official announcement has been made. Read more here.
