The New York premiere of Gina Gionfriddo’s Can You Forgive Her? officially opened May 23 at the Vineyard Theatre Off-Broadway. Leading the cast of the new play by the two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist is Amber Tamblyn (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), making her Off-Broadway debut.

Directed by Peter DuBois, previews of Can You Forgive Her? began May 4.

Gionfriddo’s dark comedy takes place on Halloween and is centered on Miranda, a woman who is drowning in debt and on the run from her date who has threatened to kill her.

Completing the cast are Eshan Bay (House of Cards), Ella Dershowitz (Intimacy), Darren Pettie (Mad Men), and Tony winner Frank Wood (Side Man).
