New York Theatre Workshop’s production of Othello, starring David Oyelowo and Daniel Craig, officially opened at the downtown theatre December 12. Tony winner Sam Gold’s staging sees the Shakespearean classic set in a modern-day military barracks and is scheduled to play through January 18, 2017.
Performances began November 22 at NYTW, located at 79 E. 4th St., New York.
Oyelowo and Craig are joined by House of Cards’ Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Desdemona, along with David Wilson Barnes (Bridge of Spies), Marsha Stephanie Blake (Orange Is the New Black), Blake DeLong (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812), Glenn Fitzgerald (Dirty Sexy Money), Slate Holmgren (King Lear), Anthony Michael Lopez (The Penalty), Matthew Maher (The Flick), Nikki Massoud (Zealot), Kyle Vincent Terry (Robin Hood), and Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story).
