How do Italian families celebrate? With food, of course. The cast of A Bronx Tale celebrated the opening of Meghan Kennedy’s Napoli, Brooklyn—another tale of love, family, and loyalty featuring Italians in New York City—by sending over a delicious box of cannoli.

The Roundabout Theatre Company production of Napoli, Brooklyn, the story of an Italian-American family in a rapidly-changing Park Slope during the 1960s, officially opened Off-Broadway June 27. Jordyn DiNatale, Lilli Kay, and Elise Kibler star as the three Muscolino sisters at the heart of the play, who find themselves at odds with their parents’ traditional values.
Rounding out the cast are Shirine Babb as Celia Jones, Alyssa Bresnahan as Luda, Juliet Brett as Connie Duffy, Erik Lochtefeld as Albert Duffy, and Michael Rispoli as Nic Muscolino.
Directed by Gordon Edelstein, the new play began performances June 9 at the Laura Pels Theatre Off-Broadway and is scheduled to run through September 3. For tickets and more information, visit RoundaboutTheatre.org.
The Broadway musical A Bronx Tale is currently running at the Longacre Theatre, where it officially opened December 1, 2016. Chazz Palminteri’s story of growing up in the Bronx in the 1960s features a score by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and direction by Robert De Niro and Jerry Zaks.
