Kennedy, who has been seen on Broadway in Sunset Boulevard, Spamalot and Side Show, is joined by Kevin Gray (Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, The King and I) as Che.

The cast also features Greg Dulcie as Peron and Jonathan Bragg as Magaldi. Completing the Evita company are Ashley Arnold, Lindsay Gee, Aubrey Adams, Tami Mostert, Olivia Sharber, Addie Hoobler, Jeremy Dumont, Sidney Eric Wright, Chaz Wolcott, Christopher J. Deaton, Babakayode Ipaye, Daniel R. Johnson, Doug LoPachin, Sarah Comley, Joanna Jacobs, and children's ensemble members Ashton Miramontes, Katherine D’Souza, Logan Macaulay, Riley Seymour and Victoria Wilson.

Richard Stafford directs and choreographs Evita, which is set to run through Feb. 13. Craig Barna serves as musical director.

Evita has costumes by Tammy Spencer, lighting by Sam Rushen, sound design by Jonathan Parke and scenic design by Mark Halpin. Wig design is by Patricia Delsordo.

The political rock opera began life as a 1976 concept album, with music by Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Rice. Evita includes the signature song "Don’t Cry for Me Argentina," as well as "Another Suitcase in Another Hall," "Rainbow High," "Oh, What a Circus," "The Money Kept Rolling In," "A New Argentina" and "Buenos Aires." Hal Prince staged the original London production of Evita in 1978, which launched the career of actress Elaine Paige. The musical, also under Prince's direction, transferred to Broadway in 1979, with Patti LuPone in the title role. The role also solidified LuPone's status as a Broadway star and garnered the actress her first Tony Award. A 1996 film adaptation starred pop icon "Madonna" and the 2006 London revival, with Argentinean actress Elena Roger in the title role, is aiming for a 2012 Broadway bow. Ricky Martin has been announced to co-star with Roger.

The original Broadway production of Evita earned Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, Best Direction, Best Actress (LuPone), Best Featured Actor (Mandy Patinkin) and Best Lighting Design.
