Why Does Anna Kendrick Try to Avoid Weddings? | Playbill

Film & TV News Why Does Anna Kendrick Try to Avoid Weddings? Late Night With Seth Meyers welcomed the Pitch Perfect 3 star to discuss her newest films, weddings, and more.

Anna Kendrick joined Seth Meyers on Late Night With Seth Meyers to discuss her newest films Trolls, Table 19, and Pitch Perfect 3, weddings, and more.

After voicing the character Poppy in the DreamWorks movie Trolls, the Tony nominee had high hopes that children would start to like her. When she saw a friend’s toddler with a Poppy doll, Kendrick started singing a song from the movie but her plan backfired. “This child looked at me like I was a demon who had like stolen Poppy’s voice like Ursula the sea witch-style,” Kendrick told host Meyer.

The two discussed her upcoming film, Table 19, in which Kendrick plays a woman sitting at the reject table at a wedding after getting dumped by the best man. The conversation sparks how Kendrick feels about attending weddings in real life—she tries not to attend and is determined not to be a bridesmaid.

Meyer also asked Kendrick about her “casual singing problem” and she told him that while she finds people who constantly sing to themselves to be annoying, she can’t stop doing it herself.
