News Wicked Celebrates Seventh Anniversary With Special October Events The hit, Oz-themed Broadway musical Wicked will celebrate its seventh anniversary on the Great White Way on Oct. 30. Several special events will be held throughout the month of October to commemorate the event.

World of Wicked at the Mall at Short Hills with Special Cast Appearance
Short Hills, NJ

Now through Oct. 17

"Visit the Grand Court to 'Take Your Photo in Oz,' see the 'Behind the Emerald Curtain' museum display, walk through 'Glinda’s Bubble' and pick up your 'Passport to Oz' – a booklet with offers throughout the mall. On Sunday, Oct. 17 from 12-1 PM, cast members Stephanie Torns and Laura Woyasz will perform in the Grand Court, hosted by Wicked star and New Jersey local P.J. Benjamin (The Wizard)."

Teen Vogue Fashion University

"Teen Vogue’s Fashion University is an exclusive weekend-long event focused on the business of fashion, beauty, and more. Wicked’s own Tony Award-winning costume designer, Susan Hilferty, will conduct a seminar on costume design on Saturday, October 23. Come celebrate Halloween at Wicked this year. The first 100 Wicked fans to buy orchestra tickets using the code WD7 for the 3 PM performance on Sunday, Oct. 31 are invited to a post-show party at Tom & Toon, a new restaurant located across the street from The Gershwin Theatre. Members of the cast of Wicked will be in attendance."

With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Academy Award winner for "Pocahontas" and "The Prince of Egypt") and book by Winnie Holzman ("My So Called Life," "Once And Again" and "thirtysomething"), Wicked tells the untold story of the witches of Oz, and is based on Gregory Maguire's book. It's directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Vagina Monologues) and features musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (Aida, The Who's Tommy, How To Succeed…).

Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.

The Broadway production, currently running at the Gershwin Theatre, now stars Mandy Gonzalez as Elphaba, Katie Rose Clarke as GLinda, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, P.J. Benjamin as the Wizard, Andy Karl as Fiyero, Alex Brightman as Boq, Jenny Fellner as Nessarose and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond. Wicked is the winner of three Tony Awards and a Grammy Award, among others.
